Mushroom Goes Urban

After his home-trip, E surprised me with few things for my kitchen. He got me couple of stuffs like cheese cloth etc, but one that is particularly memorable is this mushroom kit. Basically you can grow your own mushroom and enjoy it anywhere in the world. Any time. Wow, mushroom goes 21st century.

The concept is recycling used coffee beans to replace soil. Recycling what is known as a waste into ahem.. organic food (?). Smart eh? The mushroom can grow up to 4x in each “coffee bag” known as kit. There are two sides and the mushroom can grow up to 2x on each side. So far, I’ve had 2 crops on one side. Going for my third.

Moreover, if you post a photo with your mushroom to their facebook page, they will contribute a kit to an elementary school of your preferences. I wish they can send some to school in Indonesia. I don’t know if they ship this overseas, but those in the US, you should be able to get it pretty easily.

If you want to know more about this, go to their websites here: Back to the Roots
